KENT BLOSSOM ART - VISITING ARTIST SERIES

The terrific Kent Blossom Art visiting artist lecture series kicks off
this week at Kent State University! All lectures take place at 6 p.m. in
room 202 of the Art Building (Kent campus) and are free and open to the
public. This week¹s visiting artists are:

WEDNESDAY, MAY 21
Jeff Ballard (Glass)

Jeff Ballard is based in Eugene, Ore., where he is active at the local hot
glass studios as well as out of his home studio. He has taught at the
University of Oregon Craft Center in Eugene and the Pilchuck Glass School
in Stanwood, Wash. He has also lectured and exhibited internationally, and
in 2012 received a prestigious U.S. Arts Envoy grant to teach glassblowing
to underprivileged youth in Berlin, Germany.

THURSDAY, MAY 22
Tommy White (Painting)

Tommy White is based in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and is chair of the
painting department at the Cleveland Institute of Art. His work is widely
represented in private collections, as well as in the permanent
collections of the Mobile Museum of Art in Mobile, Ala.; Crayola LLC in
Forks Township, Pa.; and Capitol One Financial Corporation in Tysons
Corner, Va. He has exhibited across the U.S., in Melbourne, Australia, and
Seoul, South Korea.

FRIDAY, MAY 23
Hilary Harnischfeger (Sculpture)

Hilary Harnischfeger¹s work has appeared in innumerable solo and group
exhibitions, including at the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New
York, MOCA Cleveland and Grimm Fine Art in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Born in
Melbourne, Australia, and raised in Houston, she currently divides her
time between Granville, Ohio, and Brooklyn, N.Y.

The visiting artist lecture series will continue through late June. More
