*Fall Youth Theatre Arts Classes Now! *

Talespinner Children's Theatre (TCT) Fall Youth Theatre Arts Classes
start in one month! Give your favorite young artist the gift of wings for
their imagination! TCT, whose recent production of THE FLOATING DOLLS was
critically, audience and kid acclaimed, is a Cleveland theatre company that
develops and produces highly imaginative, original, collaborative and
interactive professional works for children, as well as providing a full
range of theatre-arts based in-house and outreach programming.

TCT will offer eight classes developed for pre-schoolers (ages 3-5), kids
(6-10) and early teens (11-14). Fall session starts September 6th and runs
through November 1st.* Pre-school classes will be held on Saturdays from
10:00am – 11:00am; programming for kids and early teens will be held on
Saturdays from 10:00am – 1:00pm. All classes will be held at Talespinner
Children's Theatre at the Reinberger Auditorium, 5209 Detroit Ave,
Cleveland, Ohio. (**Please note that there is no class on Saturday, **October
18th*.)

The cost of an eight-week session for pre-schoolers is $75. Kids and early
teens will be enrolled in three classes at a total cost of $200. Ask about
our “sibling discount!” Interested parents or students may register online
at www.talespinnerchildrenstheatre.org or via phone at 216.264.9680

*Class Descriptions:*

*Pre-school Classes (Ages 3-5):*

10:00am-11:00am

*Young Tale Spinners*

In this session, students will learn a classic children's story. Through
team exercises, creative play, story exploration, and song, students will
create their own version of the story and build it into a special
presentation for family and friends. Along the way, they learn confidence,
verbal and non-verbal communication skills, cooperation, self-awareness,
and just plain have fun! Each student receives a copy of the original story
book to keep and share with their parents, siblings, and friends!

*Kids (Ages 6-10); *

10:00am-1:00pm

*Ensemble Play Creation*

In this class, students create a story of their own making and explore
different ways in which to present it. Over the eight-week period, student
collaboration and cooperation will refine and bring to life a presentation
wholly created and built by them, limited only by their imaginations.

*Body and Voice in Character*

Students use their bodies and voices to develop and define themselves and
bring acting and story-telling alive for an audience. They learn how
verbal and non-verbal communication work can bring a story and a character
alive in different, colorful, and compatible ways.

 *Acting through Mask and Puppet*

Students learn to take different characters and develop and find the magic
in them, learning puppeting and mask-work as alternative ways to bring
story-telling and play-making to their most imaginative height.

 *Early Teens (Ages 11-14):*

10:00am – 1:00pm

See descriptions above. (*Please note: the Early Teen classes are
separate from the Kids classes.*)

                                                         ___________________

In this eight-week session, kids and early teens will attend three
separate, but inter-related classes for young artists each day. Working in
support of each other, the classes teach varying aspects of how to use the
tools of a theatre artist, and to celebrate the art of creation and sharing
through theatrical production. From developing their own story, to finding
their own script, to filling it with imaginative and individual characters
and creatures of their own creation, all students will be involved in a
theatrical story-telling experience that culminates in a very special
presentation for family and friends. Along the way, they will develop
confidence, a strong sense of self, communication skills, a willingness to
“think outside the box,” and experience the fullness of working as an
artistic team.

*ABOUT TALESPINNER CHILDREN'S THEATRE:* TCT is a Cleveland-based company
that develops and produces highly imaginative, original, collaborative and
interactive professional works for children that also stimulate creative
growth in its artists. At any time, these pieces may involve acting, dance,
music, puppetry, tumbling, drumming, and numerous other artistic
disciplines as imagined by the artistic teams working with and for TCT, and
are open to all creative possibility. TCT presents its third season
with *Aesop’s
Pirate Adventure*, April 5th through April 27th, *The Floating Dolls*, June
14th through July 6th, *Loki & Lucy*, September 20th through October 12th,
and *Clara & the Nutcracker* November 29th through December 21st. TCT's aim
is to bring theatre to the community in its fullest form providing
excitement, growth and joy for all who are involved in and/or touched by
its work.

TCT strives to reach across socio-economic, cultural and traditional
boundaries to help awaken and bring better understanding by opening eyes,
ears, hearts and imaginations in the young people (and artists) of
Cleveland and its surrounds.

TCT creates work that remembers that children are smaller people, not
lesser people.
