[NEohioPAL] Auditions: Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus

Final auditions for the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus will be held on Saturday, September 6th from 1:30-3:30pm.

2014-2015 season highlights will include singing Bach's Mass in B minor with The Cleveland Orchestra and Chorus at Severance Hall, and the Fauré Requiem with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra. Members of the Youth Chorus also have the opportunity to sing Christmas concerts with The Cleveland Orchestra and Chorus at Severance Hall, and as members of the Blossom Festival Chorus in the summer.

Eligibility requirements:

·         Students entering grades 9-12 in the fall 2014-2015 school year

·         College freshman music majors at a local university

·         Boys in 8th grade whose voices have completely changed

Audition requirements:

·         One prepared piece from the OMEA solo & ensemble list OR a classical solo piece (no pop or Broadway tunes) for which an accompanist is provided.

·         Music does not need to be memorized.

Be prepared to:

·         Demonstrate your vocal range and sight-read a piece of music



Audition Location: First Baptist Church in Shaker Heights, 3630 Fairmount Blvd, Shaker Heights



Audition times are by appointment only. Applicants will be notified of their audition time by email.
Fees:

·         NO application fee

·         Tuition (if accepted): $85 + performance attire
