Guy Pernetti is a solo contemporary American guitarist and singer/ song writer who creates original compositions for the guitar as well as songs of the heart. He is an experienced musician and recording engineer. Guy Pernetti's musical experience began at the age of eight with his first guitar. At sixteen he started composing Spanish style guitar pieces and began performing in coffee houses, then radio programs and colleges. Pernetti won a place performing on a Disney Channel program called Up And Coming, and has done curtain music (openers) for such personalities as Leon Russel, Graham Nash, Greg Brown, Chris Thomas King, David Allan Coe, Brian Auger and the Oblivion Band, and others. In the 2004 Kent State Folk Festival, Pernetti won first place in the talent competition and the honor of opening for Maura O' Connell's performance. He was Musician In Residence with University Circle Inc., in Cleveland at the three Veteran Administration Hospitals. Pernetti worked as a music composer for commercial, corporate, and educational productions for a number of years, while doing studio work, recording projects, and live performance. An original composition called "Olufela" was selected for the "Kent State MAY 4 Cd Project." Pernetti often sits in with the Billy Smith Blues Band and others when they need a steel slide man. Guy performs on the Dobro and Hawaiian slide guitars as well as steel string and classical guitars. Pernetti sings and plays with various styling and special tunings that express intimacy and feeling for the music. He has performed from coast to coast and maintains an active schedule..
