Have you ever……taken the opportunity to see a performance or artpresentation at one of the Tri-C campuses (Theatre, Music, Dance, or VisualArts)?…gone to see a performance that was part of JazzFest,Tri-C’s High School Rock Off, Tri-C’s Piano Academy, or various ArtsPrepprograms at Playhouse Square, House of Blues, or other local venues?…been part of an organization that took advantage of Tri-C’sexcellent staff and facilities to perform or showcase on one of the Tri-C campuses?… seen a performance or art presentation at one of northeastOhio’s Theatres, concert venues, museums, or other presentation spaces? (over1,000 Tri-C grads work there)…been one of the over 900,000 people who have takenadvantage of Tri-C’ affordable tuition by taking a class?…received training, a degree, or a certificate at Tri-C? (30,000+attend annually)…hired an employee who took classes, got training orreceived a degree from Tri-C? (In 2013 alone, more than 1,000 local companieshired Tri-C students or contracted Tri-C to train current workers)…took the opportunity to attend a workshop, meeting, orlecture at any of the Tri-C Campuses?…taken advantage of any of the other community servicesTri-C provides?…beento an area hospital. (Tri-C ranks #1 in Ohio and #8 in the Nation for thenumber of associate degrees in registered nursing, nursingadministration, nursing research, clinical nursing, and healthprofessionals. More local hospital employees have attended Tri-C than any otherschool) If you answered yes to one or more of these questions andyou want these opportunities to be available to you and others in the future, then you must strongly consider voting FOR Issue 6 this Election (by November 4).Issue 6 is the levy for Tri-C and is crucialfor making all of these opportunities possible. Tri-C has done more and more with less and less. A recordnumber of students received diplomas in the spring of ’14. For the last fiveyears, Tri-C has served more northeast Ohio veterans annually than any othercollege or university. At the national level, Tri-C has been designated“Leadership level” (top 1%) of all the League of Innovation colleges anduniversities.  The county levy accounts for over 40% of the operatingrevenue. Without it, drastic cuts will have to be made. The Performing andVisual Arts Centers will be closed and Arts programs discontinued. The futureof Cuyahoga Community College and its impact on Northeast Ohio will bedetermined by the outcome of this vote. For more information on Tri-C’s contribution to CuyahogaCounty, go to:http://www.tri-c.edu/about/Pages/default.aspxand select the “At a Glance” document on the right of thatpage.
