[NEohioPAL] Solon Community Church seeking a bass/baritone soloist/section leader (paid)

Solon Community Church (SCC) , United Church of Christ has an immediate opening for a bass/baritone soloist/section leader. The church is a small but vibrant congregation with a strong commitment to its music program.

The bass/baritone soloist/section leader is expected to attend the weekly rehearsal at 9:00 am on Sunday morning and the 10:30 service.  At each service, the choir sings an introit, anthem, and leads hymns.  The soloist section leader would be responsible for a solo selection during the offertory approximately once a month.  Additional solo opportunities in the weekly anthem are periodically available.  SCC presents two major works per year, generally the Sundays before Christmas and Easter.  This year we presented the Faure Requiem and Vivaldi Gloria.  SCC presents a wide range of musical styles including classical, gospel, and contemporary.

The ideal candidate for bass/baritone soloist section leader would be a music major at a local college or a recent graduate.  Consideration will be given to advanced high school student with extensive performance experience and private study.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.  Once again, this is a Sunday-only commitment.
