Alex Bevan plays concert at Ashtabula Arts Center

 

The Ashtabula Arts Center will be filled with music this coming Saturday
night, January 31, when singer/songwriter Alex Bevan plays a
coffeehouse/concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by
calling the arts center at (440) 964-3396.  All tickets are $15.

Bevan has won a number of awards including an Emmy for his score of the
"American Promise - Rustbelt Blues. His songs run the gamut from folk to
folk rock and pop and his expert guitar playing and improvisational wit
enable him to blend story and song. Bevan has been writing songs and
performing for audiences for more than forty years.  

Bevan got his first six-string, classical guitar when he was a student at
Shaw High School in East Cleveland. He began playing local night clubs and
coffeehouses. Signed to Big Tree Records while a student at the University
of Akron, he has played in a number of bands over the years and has
performed as the opening act for headliners including Pure Prairie League,
The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jimmy Buffet, Billy Joel, the Doobie Brothers,
Hall & Oates, and others. Bevan has produced more than 20 albums and CD's
and has written over 100 radio and TV commercials.

Arts Center at (440) 964-3396 or by visiting the box office at 2928 W. 13th
Street, Ashtabula. Advance sale tickets are recommended as seating will be
limited.
