Chagrin Valley Little Theatre is ready to warm up your heart in January
with the Katherine DiSavino comedy THINGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME. Olivia
(Natalie Dolezal) and Gabe (Adam Donnelly) are starting their new life
together and are moving into their own apartment in Chicago.

They've just packed up all of their belongings and driven halfway across
the country, but their moving day becomes a little "crowded" when both
sets of parents (Rose Gabriele, Mark Moore, Sue Cohen, and James Barron)
and their superintendent (Mim Goloboff) decide to show up to help!

With cleaning products and bottles of honey vodka in hand, they all
offer Gabe and Olivia their own advice on life and how things should
really be done. Can a two bedroom apartment contain all of the love,
laughs, worry and wisdom that's about to happen?

    */The Real Inspector Hound

*STARRING: *Bob McCoy, Mike Rogan, Jenny Barrett, Luke Powers, Cara
Battaglia, Keri Lambert, and Wayne Merholz and Stephen Kay.

Stoppard's comedy tells the story of two feuding theatre critics, Moon
(the pompous and vindictive one) and Birdboot (the stuffy philanderer),
who become involved in the action of the ludicrious whodunit they're
watching, causing a series of events that parallel the play.

In the tradition of Agatha Christie melodramas, a group is trapped in an
isolated English manor with a body hidden under a sofa, when a
suspicious young man and an inspector from Scotland Yard arrive. Moon
and Birdboot somehow find themselves implicated in the lethal activities
of the escaped madman!

Featuring virtuoso pianist, JIAYAN SUN who brought down the house last
year with his brilliant performance of the Tchaikovsky Piano concert #1.
This year, Jiayan will perform both the Liszt Piano Concerto #1 and #2.
Each work is about 20 minutes long and promises to hold the audience
breathless. Jiayan Sun was named "Audience Favorite" at the Cleveland
International Piano Competition. He is currently completing his masters
work at Julliard with his teacher Yoheved Kaplinsky.

Also on the program, rock musician turned composer NATHAN FELIX returns
to Chagrin Falls to host the World Premiere Performance of his new
symphony. /The Curse, the Cross and the Lion/. Nathan's efforts inspired
a documentary by director David Schulte entitled /The Curse & The
Symphony/, capturing the story of a young, ambitious, and perhaps
rebellious musician searching for identity and truth within classical
structures of culture and society. The documentary has screened at 14
film festivals and received numerous accolades, including "Best
Documentary Short" at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival. Nathan will
on hand for the concert and is looking forward to being back with his
friends in Chagrin.

*Theatrical Clowning for Improvisers
February 1 ($30)
Sunday, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. *

This intensive workshop will introduce the improviser to the subset of
physical theatre techniques known as theatrical clowning. The focus will
be on nonverbal expression, breaking the fourth wall to find a
connection with the audience, and vulnerability. Some previous stage
experience is strongly suggested. Adults only.

*Theatrical Clowning for Improvisers
February 15 - March 22 (6 weeks, $15)
Sunday Afternoons*

Whether you're looking to improve your communication skills, boost your
self-confidence, or enhance your creativity, an improv class can be a
great avenue for personal growth. This class will provide a gentle
introduction to the idea that not knowing what the next moment will
bring can be scary, but it can also be fun! Students will be encouraged
to take risks in the context of a supportive environment. Rediscover the
lost art of play and learn to silence the voice of judgment in your
head. Experience what Barbara Christian of the Chagrin Valley Times
called "a play date for adults ... something that can urge the inner
child out of almost everyone." Open to students ages 16 and up. No
experience required.
