TheParma Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert on Sunday, March 1, 2015at 3:00 PM at ValleyForge High School Auditorium located at 9999 Independence Boulevard inParma Heights. 

Music Director Dr. Randolph P. Laycock will present: Brian Bigley on Uilleann Pipesperforming “The Brendan Voyage”by Shaun Davey.  Also on the program are Polovetsian Dances byAlexander Borodin, and Beethoven’s“Lenore Overture #2” The orchestra, in its 46thseason consists of 75 members of all walks of life from all over the entireGreater Cleveland area.  They meet weekly for rehearsals and present atleast four concerts annually.

General admission is $10 for adults and $5 forstudents and senior citizens.  Family passes of $20 are available forfamilies of up to 2 adults and their children.  All tickets are availableat the door beginning at 2:30 PM. 

The Parma Symphony Orchestra is a self-supportingcommunity orchestra in cooperation with the Parma City Schools.  For moreinformation can be found on Facebook, web-site www.parmasymphony.org orcalling Business Manager Joe Germana 440-882-2012. Growing upnear Cleveland, Ohio, BrianBigley was enthralled by the music and dance that came from hisneighbor's house across the street. So, at the age of eight he began studyingthe uilleann pipes with Achill Island piper Michael Kilbane and taking dancelessons with Bobby Masterson.  Sincethen, Brian competed with distinction at the World Irish Dance Championshipstwice, and placed first in Senior Piping at the Midwest Fleadh Ceol. He hastoured extensively throughout North America and Europe as a piper, fluteplayer, whistle player, and dancer. He has appeared with the Chieftains atCarnegie Hall, Tomaseen Foley's "A Celtic Christmas," Apollo's Fire intheir "Countryside Concerts," The Contemporary Youth Orchestra as asoloist for the performance of "Symphonic Led Zeppelin," legendaryPiper Paddy Keenan, et al.  
Not only does he play thepipes, but also makes them, having apprenticed with Seth Gallagher and PatrickOlwell.  
Brian lives near Clevelandwith his fiddler wife, Kristen and son, James.
