PHYSICAL APPROACHES TO ACTING WORKSHOP

Curious how to get your body expressing and moving with intention and purpose?
Need some feedback on that left arm habit that keeps coming back?

Join us for Physical Approaches to Acting, a focused coaching workshop, led by Jeffrey Fracé of the loved Conni’s Avant Garde Restaurant.  With 20 years of experience in physical theatre practices, Jeffrey will lead workshop participants through activities that engage and open the body, uncovering hidden potential and innate ability. All workshop participants must prepare a fully memorized 1-2 minute monologue, classical or contemporary. This is an intermediate course and space is limited.

Orthodox Church Space is located at 6201 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH 44102 on the Cleveland Public Theatre Campus.

PREPARATION
Prepare a fully memorized 1-2 minute monologue, classical or contemporary

JEFFREY FRACÉ BIOGRAPHY
Jeffrey Fracé has appeared as an actor in more than 70 professional productions internationally. He is a former Associate Artist of Anne Bogart’s SITI Company, performing, touring, and teaching with the company for over 10 years. Seattle acting credits include Rapture, Blister, Burn; Celebration and Old Times (Pinter Festival); and Lieutenant of Inishmore, all at ACT Theatre. Other credits include the Kennedy Center, New York Shakespeare Festival, American Repertory Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Stonington Opera House, Cleveland Public Theatre, Chopin Theatre Chicago, La MaMa ETC and the Iberoamericano Festival of Bogota. His directing credits include Measure for Measure, As You Like It, Hamlet, Macbeth and Romeo & Juliet for Stonington Opera House; Mother Courage and Her Children and 1984 for People's Branch Theatre; Romeo & Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream for Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre; Don Giovanni for New York Repertory Ensemble. His original work and devised performances have been presented in Cleveland, New York, Seattle, Nashville, Boston, and Maine, in both traditional and non-tradition (site-specific) venues. He is a founding member of the award-winning ensemble Conni's Avant Garde Restaurant, writing for and performing in their original shows in New York and nationally. He is also active in New York and Seattle's contemporary dance scenes: collaborators include Pavel Zustiak/ Palissimo, Carrie Ahern, Yo-el Cassell, Dixie Fun Lee Shulman, Elizabeth Haselwood, Storme Sundberg, and Peggy Piacenza. Next, Jeffrey will be playing Jerry in Pinter’s Betrayal at North Coast Rep in California, directing Merry Wives of Windsor at Stonington Opera House in Maine, and his latest devised work The Life Model will premiere at On the Boards in January 2016. Jeffrey lives in Seattle and teaches acting, movement, and devising theatre at University of Washington.
