Western Reserve Playhouse PresentsPETE ‘n’ KEELYby James HindmanJuly 24, 25, 31, August 1, 7, 8, 14, 15Pete ‘n’ Keely is a tribute to the performing couples of the 50’s and 60’s much like Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme.  It’s 1968!  Tune in as America’s swinging sweethearts-- Pete Bartel (Mike Guffey) and Keely Stevens (Tina Starkey) -- a formerly married couple are reunited for a live television special re-living their illustrious musical career on TV, in Las Vegas showrooms, and at the top of the hit parade.   The only catch – they haven’t spoken since their big breakup at Caesar’s Palace five years ago.As the show has it, Pete and Keely had their popularity in the 1950’s and 1960’s -- apparently intended as a sort of second tier Steve and Eydie, though less accomplished and certainly less compatible.  By 1968 a few years after their divorce, each is in a career slide, with slow selling solo albums and bus and truck tours of musicals.  The TV special is meant to put Pete and Keely back on top.   Can they conceal their apparent mutual animosity? This Off-Broadway musical hit is packed with classic favorites like Besame Mucho, Secret Love,This Could Be the Start of Something Big, and Fever. This nostalgic revue style musical is directed by Marc C. Howard who has directed many of our favorite and most popular shows including the 2012 comedy hit The Dixie Swim Club and the musicals The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and last year’s Shout! The Mod Musical.   John Ebner who has put his fine musical touch to Applause and Shout! The Mod Musical also brings his magic to this light and whimsical musical.Producers are Sue Snyder and Jack Steele.   The stage manager is Steve Benefit and Stage Manager Anne Guffey has brought costumer Elizabeth Balla on board.DATES:                     Fridays and Saturdays,  July 24th to August 15thCURTAIN TIME       8:00 p.m.PRICES:                    $15.00  Adults     $13.00  Seniors and StudentsThe theatre address is 3326 Everett Road and is at the corner of Revere and Everett roads at the Bath/Richfield township line.                                                                              Call the theatre at 330-620-7314
