[NEohioPAL] Broadway World opens nominations for 2015 Awards

These so-called awards are just a little popularity contest. If folk find
it amusing or gratifying, that's great. Enjoy.

1. Anybody can nominate, and nominate, I think, as many times as they like,
as no identification seems to be required.

2. Many nominators are likely to be ignorant of such distinctions as which
theatres regularly offer Equity contracts. That confusion will persist, as
will the absence of any really effective editing of the process.

3. As for the eventual voting, people can "vote" for work they haven't even
seen - and do. For my money, that level of mendacity tends to invalidate
any "recognition" or "winning".

That's my two cents on the whole thing. Don't get me started on the cynical
attaching of the label "Broadway" to this whole sham.
