 Good Morning!!
The Mandel Jewish Community Centerof Cleveland seeks applicants for its Assistant Director of Playmakers YouthTheatre position. As part of the leadership team of the Mandel JCC, thisposition assists with the development and implementation of programming inorder to expand and further advance the Playmakers program. Typical duties include, but arenot limited to, the following:    
   - Promotes theJewish mission and purpose of the Mandel JCC through programming. 
   - Assists withthe creation of the calendar of events for all Playmakers programming. 
   - Assists withthe development, implementation, and evaluation of theatre productions for yearround and summer camp programs.
   - Implementsan array of Performing Arts classes for all ages, including hiring instructorsand coordinating class schedule.   
   - Teaches aminimum of one class per session in field of expertise. 
   - Directs atleast one theatre production and one summer camp productions each year. 
   - Assists withthe supervision and coordination of operation and maintenance of the theatre’sphysical space, including set-up and tear-down before and after eachperformance. 
   - Works withthe Day Camp department throughout the year on all aspects of camppreparation—brochure, registration, staffing, transportation,recruitment/retention, etc. 
   - Hires,supervises, and evaluates artistic, technical, administrative, and summer campstaff. 
   - Assists withthe creation of staff training curriculum for camp staff.
   - Inconjunction with department Director, works with camp supervisors to create andimplement camp programming. 
Qualified applicants will have aBachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field aswell as one to three years of experience in and/or directing large scalemusical and non-musical productions. Proven experience working with children ofall ages in a camp, school, or theatre setting is also required. Applicantswill have working knowledge of financial management procedures, short and longterm planning methods, and program development experience.
