SPOTLIGHTS THEATER TO HOST ART EXHIBIT BY RENOWNED ARTIST MILAN KECMANDURING THE COFFEEHOUSE PRODUCTION OF “DURANG / DURANG” The Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater is proud to share the works of Milan Kecman during its Coffeehouse show “Durang/Durang”, February 5-13, 2016.  Mr. Kecman uses a wide variety of styles to bring a unique vision to each project. He has worked in scratchboard with color wash added digitally as well as painting in acrylics and oils. He draws from early influences in mythology, folk tales and Aesop’s fables, making frequent use of allegory and humor which could be described as “visual storytelling.  A BFA graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, Mr. Kecman has also worked as a graphic designer and art director. He pursued a career in illustration and worked as a freelance illustrator until 1995 when he began working as an editorial artist with The Plain Dealer. No longer with the paper, he is currently devoting time to exploring new creative directions.  Milan Kecman has exhibited at several local art festivals (juried), and has won many awards. He is active in the Northern Ohio Illustrators Society, where he served as an officer. He is also a member of various community art groups. The exhibit will be available for viewing during the run of the show, Fridays, Saturdays and Thursday 7:00-9:30PM and Sunday, February 7 from 2:30-5:00PM. His works are available for purchase. There will be a complimentary beverage bar (non-alcoholic) during the exhibit.
Admission to the coffeehouse show is optional but encouraged; tickets may be purchased at the door. Durang/Durang is a collection of six one-act plays by renowned American playwright, Christopher Durang, best known for writing outrageous and often absurd comedies. Luscious desserts will be available for purchase during an extended intermission. Tickets: $13 for adults; $12 for seniors and students. The show contains adult themes and language.
