*SUMMER YOUTH MUSICAL ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR “ALICE IN WONDERLAND” MUSICAL*

MEDINA, OH (April 21, 2016) – The Summer Youth Musical announces auditions
for Alice in Wonderland, a musical by Mike Carter. The production will be
directed by Nate Sayatovich and produced by Ansley Valentine.* Auditions
are scheduled for Friday, May 6th from 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturday, May 7th
from 9 am to 2 pm at the Montville Township Police Station Training Room
located at 6665 Wadsworth Road in Medina. Audition appointments can be made
online at http://bit.ly/ALICE_SYM <http://bit.ly/ALICE_SYM>. *The
production will be presented June 24-25 at the Highland High School
Performing Arts Center in Medina.

Any school-age students from elementary through high school may audition.
Auditioning students do not need to prepare anything in advance. Auditions
consist of reading from the script and learning a song. First-time
participants are encouraged to audition. There is a $50 participation fee
for any student in the cast. The fee helps to defray some of the program
costs. There is financial assistance available for any child who
demonstrates a need.

A new musical, *Alice in Wonderland* brings Lewis Carroll’s classic book to
life. The show follows Alice on her exciting journey through wonderland as
she meets the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and other
memorable characters. Last year, the Summer Youth Musical Shrek the Musical
Jr. was presented by Northern Michigan University in partnership with the
Highland Foundation. Students from Cuyahoga, Medina and Summit counties
were in the cast and production crew of over 60.
