The Akron Songwriters Workshop
August 9 - 12, 2016 10:00 AM - 4 PM
Akron Civic Theatre
182 S. Main St., Akron, OH 44308
This summer, the Akron Civic Theatre will premiere its new four-day workshop for emerging and aspiring songwriters! August 9 - 12!
Inspired by similar events offered in cities like Austin and Nashville, our workshop will be an immersive experience for local artists of all skill levels.
You'll work with successful songwriters operating at the national level:
Steve Bogard (former NSAI President, writer of several #1 hits for artists like Lee Greenwood, Reba McEntire, George Strait, Etta James &more)
Danielle Howle (Swamp Sessions creator, has had songs featured on Army Wives & SC State Tourism commercials.)
Jamie Floyd (Grammy Nominated for her song The Blade, writer of 3 orginal songs for the TV movie Manson's Lost Girls, currently releasing music as an independent artist.)
Local Ohio Songwriters will also be part of the instructional process:
Joe Vitale Jr.
Chris Allen
Bob Robb
Over four days, you'll explore both the art and the business of songwriting, publishing deals vs. self-publishing, marketing your work and much more. Plus, you'll have ample opportunity to present your own material for feedback.
Registration is $100 and includes lunch each day and tickets to two evening cabaret performances with workshop leaders. For registration information, contact Dylan Yellowlees at dyellowlees at akroncivic.com<mailto:dyellowlees at akroncivic.com>.
We are offering a special for all NEOHIOPAL subscribers - $100 for the workshop!

Supported in part by funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Arts Challenge
