BROADVIEWHEIGHTS HOME DAYS ON THE GREEN

 The City of Broadview Heights will host its annual “HOME DAYS ON THEGREEN” Thursday through Sunday, July 7-10, 2016 at the Broadview Center, 9543Broadview Road.  Admission and parkingare free, and there will be fireworks on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 10:00PM. 


 
The event features live entertainment throughout the weekend as well asa nearby beer garden to relax and enjoy the music. “Red Light Roxy”, sponsored by Danbury Senior Living,will be playing on Thursday night from 7:00-10:00PM. The group plays an upbeat mix of jazz standards,jump blues, swing, boogie-woogie and a dash of old-school R&B. Itsrepertoire comes from the Great American Songbook and includes familiar songsmade famous by such legendary performers as Ella Fitzgerald, Ruth Brown, FrankSinatra, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and Louis Armstrong. Friday’sline-up opens with Community of Hope Church band, followed bysinger/songwriter/guitarist “Alex Bevan”from 7-9PM. Then the ever-popular “Rockin’ Robots” takes the stage from9-10PM.  Local band “Out of Order” willrock the stage on Saturday from 6-9PM, followed by round two of the “Rockin’Robots”. “Out of Order” will return to close the festival after thefireworks.  “Haywire” (Rockabilly) opensthe festival on Sunday afternoon (3:00-4:30PM), followed by family funBubbleologist “Gary Pearlman” from 5-6PM. “Rock On! DJ” Gary Perl will host the popular pizza-eating contest at6PM. The “King Bees” will grace the stage Sunday from 7PM till close, taking abreak at 8PM for the wildly popular Silent Auction and Pick-A-Prize Raffledrawing.


 
New this year is “Eveningtide Yoga” on the football field, sponsored byALBA Anna Lobe Ballet Academy. It is designed for all levels. Bring a mat, orjust participate on the grass. It will be Saturday evening at 7:30 and is ledby fitness expert and personal trainer Jeanette Stanowick. There is aHistorical Society tent with activities and displays. The Petting Zoo sponsoredby Faulhaber Funeral Home will be returning this year on Saturday and Sundayfrom 3:00-6:00PM, as well as the popular police dog demonstration (Saturday at7:00PM). Big O Amusements will providerides for all ages. Ride-all-Day wrist bands will be available for $20 perperson. Single tickets are $1 each (rides require 3-4 tickets). 


In a foodcourt-type setting, 20 food vendors will be offering theirspecialties. There is also a Beer & Wine Garden located next to theentertainment tent. The Broadview Heights firefighters  are also sponsoring their annual PancakeBreakfast on Sunday morning during the Mayor’s Annual 5K and 1 Mile Walk/Run.
