*The Odd Couple*

*Audition Dates:*

·         *Sunday December 4th, 2016 – 6:30 PM – 9:30PM*

·         *Tuesday December 6th, 2016 – 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM*

*OPEN CALL- No Appointment necessary*

            - Non-Equity performers / All Roles Available

            - Community Theater production. Actors receive no monetary
compensation.

*Location: *The Cassidy Theatre, 6200 Pearl Road, Parma Heights, OH 44130

                  (In the Greenbrier Commons, behind the Police Station)

*Please be prepared for the following:*

            - Cold Reading from sides at the auditions

            - Bring a headshot and resume if available.

            - Please bring a list of conflicts you may have during the
rehearsal period.

*Rehearsal Schedule for production:*

*First Read* Dec. 11th, 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.  *Table Work* Dec. 19th &/or
20th 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm

*Rehearsal Block* Jan. 2nd through Feb. 9th, 5/6 rehearsals per week
7:00-10:00 pm or possibly weekend days depending on schedules. (5 week
rehearsal period plus Tech)

*Show Dates* for *The Odd Couple* – February 10th - 26th, 2017.

Fridays and Saturdays @ 8:00 PM and Sundays @ 3:00 PM

*Show Information:*

Winner! 1965 Tony Award, Best Author of a Play
Nominee! 1965 Tony Award, Best Play

This classic comedy opens as a group of guys assemble for cards in the
apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication,
it's no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Ungar, a
neurotic, neat freak who is thrown out by his own wife. Felix and Oscar
ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as The Odd Couple
is born. The movie version featured Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. The
show’s popularity has spurred various revivals, sitcoms, and even a cartoon.

*Character Breakdown: *The director hopes to make this cast as diverse as
possible without changing the text.

OSCAR MADISON- The slob - Male. Some flexibility with age. Race open.

FELIX UNGAR- The clean-freak - Male. Of an age that would have children
living at home. Race open.

GWENDOLYN & CECILY PIGEON- The dates. *Sisters*. British Accents required.
Ages & race variable.

SPEED, MURRAY (the cop), ROY, & VINNIE- The Poker Buddies. These characters
will be considered Gender, Race & Age flexible- but adults only, please.
All are encouraged to audition.
