History and Music at Historic League Park Cleveland, OH, May 25, 2017– The Baseball Heritage Museum, located at 6601 Lexington Ave,announces First Saturdays, unique programming that will embrace the multilayered history of itsLeague Park location. First Saturdays will combine a presentation on baseball with activities and musicon the beautiful outdoor plaza. First Saturdays will begin Saturday June 3 at 10:30 am with Speakingfor League Park: Cleveland’s Magnificent Seven, Cleveland Negro Leaguers to the Majors. Come learnthe impact and influence Negro League Baseball had on the economic, social and family life in Clevelandbetween the 1920s and the 1950s.  Presenter Ike Brooks will also highlight the seven men who made thetransition to Major League baseball from the Negro League teams representing Cleveland between 1922and 1950. Following the program, thanks to a partnership with Roots of American Music (ROAM) and itsCommunity Concerts series, visitors can enjoy a ROAM activity beginning at 11 am followed byelectric blues, soul and rock from The Sam Hooper Band from noon to 2 pm. League Park has ahistory as a destination location and center of neighborhood activity, and First Saturdays will revive thattradition. All events are free and open to the public thanks to the support of Cuyahoga Arts and Culturefor Speaking for League Park and the Cleveland Foundation for Community Concerts.
