YOUTH CLASSES
Focusing on the student who loves drama. Professional theatre educators and artists provide high-quality and developmentally-appropriate theatre instruction to students at all age levels.

Songs, Stories, and Me
Ages 3-4

A wonderful introduction to the world of theatre for the very young. Participants will engage in head-to-toe learning through a gentle exploration of acting that will focus on emotions, using a playful combination of storytelling, movement, and song. Students and their families will participate in an in-class share at the end of the session.

Dramatic Play
Ages 4-6

Young performers will begin to explore theatrical techniques such as movement, voice, and storytelling as they adapt beloved stories and fairy tales. Students and their families will participate in an in-class share at the end of the session.

Creative Drama
Ages 5-7

Theatre is all about collaboration. In this fun and, of course, collaborative offering, participants will use short, scripted scenes that encourage listening to their peers, sharing ideas, and working as a team. This process will also introduce vocal and movements skills to the young actors, who will begin a journey of developing their own characters. Families will watch their young performers participate in a collaborative showcase in one of our rehearsal halls at the end of the session.

Devised Theatre
Ages 7-9

Here, we'll create a new short play! Through repetition and other techniques, young performers will build the necessary theatre skills of concentration, focus, memorization, and adaptability. They will then have the opportunity to showcase their plays in a collaborative final performance for friends and family.

Theatre One
Ages 9-11

In this class for pre-teen performers, participants will discover and develop basic acting fundamentals like listening, responding, collaboration, and characterization through a 10-minute scripted project. Basic design elements such as props, costumes, and sound will be used in rehearsal and performance. Families will watch their performers participate in a showcase at the end of the session.

Theatre Two
Ages 11-13

The "tween" actors will enhance their acting and develop the essential skills of focus and concentration as they learn to be part of the collaborative process. The session culminates with everyone being cast in a 10-minute scripted play. Basic design elements such as props, costumes, and sound will be used in rehearsal and performance. Families will watch their performers participate in a showcase at the end of the session.

Curtain Pullers
Ages 8-13

Actors will be cast in a one-act play that will highlight each of the participants' specific strengths and skill sets. The actors will work with a director to develop critical analysis, evolve creative ideas, and refine a variety of acting techniques. Participation in a week-long technical rehearsal and ticketed performances are required.
