The story of a 50-year correspondence between Melissa Gardner and her
childhood-friend-turned-love-interest, Andrew Makepeace Ladd III.  *Love
Letters* is a moving work. It brings genuine tenderness to its dual
portrait of two New England blue bloods whose lack of courage is a wedge
between them. And in the age of texts, tweets and superficial social-media
connections, in which handwritten personal correspondence has become a
quaint relic of a gentler time, this elegant drama takes on added resonance.
