Galamac’s *columbinus* Opens Thursday in Akron

*Akron, OH *(April 17, 2018) – Galamac’s inaugural production of the all
too timely play *columbinus*, by the United States Theatre project, written
by Stephen Karam and PJ Paparelli, dramaturgy by Patricia Hersch, conceived
by PJ Paparelli, opens this Thursday, April 19 at 8PM at The Well
CDC/Citizens Akron Church (formerly The First Presbyterian Church of Akron)
in Middlebury. Produced and directed by Jeremy A. Clarke and Omar Mack,
the production will honor the original play which was developed following
the Columbine High School massacre of 1999 in Littleton, Colorado based on
records, transcripts, police records, and interviews from the community;
following recent events in America, now seems like the perfect time to
re-examine a dialogue of high school adolescence, mental health, and
safety, while also looking at how grief affects a community and the power
of knowing the truth in the event of a tragedy.

The cast includes Sam Marazita, Frank Lucas, Jeremy A. Clarke, Logan
Peters, Jackson Clarke, Alexis Robles, Tessa Gaffney, Mary Grace
Bentivegna, and Jake Sustersic. Performances are Thursday, April 19th
through Sunday, April 22nd, with the April 20th performance coinciding with
the 19th anniversary of the massacre, which will be followed by a vigil to
honor the victims. Tickets are $12 and are available on Eventbrite.com and
will be available at the door (NOTE: Credit/Debit card surcharges will
apply online and at the door). A portion of box office sales will be
donated to the National Compassion Fund, a program of the National Center
for Victims of Crime that help victims of mass crime.

Rounding out the creative team is Production Manager Jordan Edelstein, with
Production Design by Jeremy A. Clarke and Omar Mack, PR design by Donovan
McDowell, and Choreography by Omar Mack.
