[NEohioPAL] SEEKING: TWO ACTORS (non-AEA) for THE SEAGULL by Anton Chekhov for CWRU/CPH MFA Program

The CWRU/CPH MFA Acting Program will be holding auditions for non-AEA actors to participate in our fall production of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull directed by Cleveland Play House’s 2018-2019 Artistic Directing Fellow, Sarah Wansley.



WHEN:

Friday, June 8th.  Exact times TBD.



WHERE:

Middough Building (5th Floor)

1901 East 13th Street



PREPARATION:

Sides will be sent out to those auditioning when an appointment is confirmed.


APPOINTMENTS:

To be considered for an audition appointment, please send headshot and resume to casting at clevelandplayhouse.com<mailto:casting at clevelandplayhouse.com> by Monday, June 4th at 6:00pm. You will be contacted if an appointment is secured.


PRODUCTION DATES:
October 10 - 20, 2018 (10 performances total. Wednesday-Saturday evenings @ 7:30pm, with Saturday matinees @ 3:00pm)

First rehearsal: September 4, 2018 (rehearsals will be held 6 days a week (5 evenings and one daytime rehearsal on the weekend-TBD whether it will be Saturday or Sundays).
Opens: October 10, 2018
Closes: October 20, 2018



Available Roles:

Polina (F, person of color, 20s-early 30s who can play 40s-early 50s): She is trapped in a loveless marriage to Shamrayev who manages Sorin’s estate.  She channels much of her frustrations to seeking a better life for her daughter, Masha. She should have singing skills and it would be an advantage to play an instrument (although not necessary).



Shamrayev (M, any ethnicity, 20s-early 30s who can play late 40s-early 50s): He is the foreman of the estate. He can be dismissive and cruel to his wife and daughter and controlling regarding his running of the estate. Dominant.



There will be an honorarium paid to the two guest actors.



Non-AEA only.
