> ABOUT THE PLAY: Waiting for Godot...is a play by Nobel Prize Winner Samuel Beckett, in which two seemingly homeless men wait for someone—or something—named Godot. Vladimir and Estragon wait near a tree, inhabiting a drama spun from their own consciousness. The result is a comic wordplay of poetry, dreamscapes, and nonsense, which has been interpreted as mankind’s inexhaustible search for meaning. and while waiting they encounter three other characters.Waiting for Godotis Beckett's translation of his own original French play,En attendant Godot, and is subtitled (in English only) "a tragicomedy in two acts. In a poll conducted by the British Royal National Theatre in 1990 it was voted the “most significant English language play of the 20th century”. Beckett’s play remains one of the most magical and beautiful allegories of our time.
