"Hands on a Hard Body: The Documentary"
will be screened at Hudson Players Jan. 20th

"Hands on a Hard Body," an award-winning documentary film, will be screened at Hudson Players on Sunday, January 20th, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at Barlow Community Center, 41 S. Oviatt Street in Hudson. The runtime is about one-and-a half hours.

The price of admission is whatever you can afford to pay!

The movie was the basis for the musical of the same name that will see its Northeast Ohio premiere February 1st at Hudson Players.

The captivating show features a tuneful country-rock score and soulful lyrics by Phish's Trey Anastasio and Amanda Green.

The 1997 film was directed by S. R. Bindler and documented an endurance competition that took place at a car dealership in Longview, Texas.  The contest pits contestants against each other to see who can keep their hand on a pickup truck for the longest amount of time. Whoever can last the longest, without leaning or squatting on the "hardbody," wins the truck.

The film chronicled the 1995 competition which lasted an amazing 77 hours! There were five minute breaks issued every hour and fifteen minute breaks every six hours....with real-life people telling their unique stories along the way.

"Hands on a Hard Body" garnered audience awards for the best documentary at the 1997 Los Angeles Film Festival.
