Over 20 years ago, we started with a simple notion – the Bard belongs to
the people, and the people deserve to hear his works in the open air as
intended and free of charge. This summer, we are proud to present HENRY V
and MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING.

HENRY V - directed by Kelly Elliott
Performance Dates June 21 – July 7
Rehearsals begin early May

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING - directed by Tyson Douglas Rand
Performance Dates July 19 – August 4
Rehearsals begin in June
No appointment necessary. Artists will be seen in the order of sign in.
There are no AEA contracts available. No housing is provided. All actors
and production staff are paid a stipend. Actors may participate in either
one or both productions. Performances travel to a variety of outdoor venues
- actors will be required to help with load-in and strike/load-out.

Prepare two contrasting monologues. Total delivery time of both monologues
combined should not exceed three minutes. At least one of your two
monologues must be from the works of Shakespeare.

For consideration, bring TWO COPIES of each - head shot & resume, and
please also bring any & all possible known conflicts between the dates of
May 4 & July 19 AND Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays through August 4.

Video Submissions will be accepted as a private YouTube link sent with
digital Head Shot (jpg or PDF format) and Resume (PDF format) via email to
info at CleveShakes.org - video submissions must be received before 12:00 noon
on Sat. April 27th for consideration. Please put "Video Audition" in the
subject line.

Special notes:
HENRY V: Certain roles in this production require the use of French
language and dialect. Please indicate your ability with the French language
on your audition form, and be prepared to speak a few words in the language
at the audition.
Familiarity with Standard Welsh, Scottish, and Irish (Northern / Southern)
is a plus. Not all roles require the use of accents. And any inability will
not prohibit you from being cast.
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING: At least one role will be required to sing and play
an instrument. Any acoustic string instrument or accordion/squeeze-box is
preferred.
Please bring instrument and prepare 16 bars - ballad.

The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival embraces gender and race blind casting
practices for all of our productions.
