ABOUT THE SHOW
"School of Rock"
A musical comedy based on the Paramount movie by Mike White

In this musical comedy based on the hit movie of the same name, we meet Dewey Finn, a failed, wanna-be rock star, who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There, he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get the youngsters to the Battle of the Bands before the parents and the school find out?

CASTING REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking to cast a diverse cast of male and female performers between the ages of 9 and 18.

Looking to cast the following roles with performers that also play instruments, if possible. Dewey- guitar, the band No Vacancy guitar, bass, and drums, Zack Mooenyham- guitar, Lawrence- keyboard, Katie- Bass, and Freddie- percussion.

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION
Please prepare 32 bars of the music of a song in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music for your song (in the appropriate key)with you to the audition; an accompanist will be provided.

Those auditioning for the role of "Rosalie" will be asked to also sing a selection from Mozart's "Queen of the Night" aria (a downloadable file of the sheet music for this song is available on the audition SignUp page: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f054aaaa62aa2f49-school<https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f054aaaa62aa2f49-school?fbclid=IwAR2KXs7MfQQxUvfSaddr3cR9q-fCF22dZq8ybUHPyq5QfJf45zLV1Psya1g>) in addition to their other audition piece.

For performers auditioning to play an instrument: Please film a one- to two-minute video that shows your talent playing the drums, guitar, bass and/or keyboards (pop/rock genre preferred). If you play more than one of these instruments, we are happy to see you play as many as you'd like! Please bring your calendar with you to the auditions in order to declare any scheduling conflicts between May 15 and July 27.

WHEN ARE THE REHEARSALS?
Rehearsals will typically be held Mondays through Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. On Sundays, rehearsals will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Technical rehearsals take place every day beginning one week before the first performance. Attendance at all technical rehearsals is mandatory.

WHEN ARE THE PERFORMANCES?
"School of Rock" will play for 15 performances between Friday, Aug. 2 and Sunday, Aug. 19, 2019.

Performances days and times:

> Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.
> Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
> Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m.
