*MTC to Hold Auditions for Shrek the Musical!*

*Warren, Ohio-* The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) is holding auditions
for their 2020 season opener, Shrek the Musical! Auditions will be held at
the Girard First United Methodist Church (22 N Market St, Girard, OH 44420)
on Thursday, December 5 from 6-9pm, Saturday, December 7 from 10-2pm, and
Sunday, December 8 from 1-4pm. Please use the West Main Street entrance by
the green awning, across from City Hall. Signs will be posted directing
auditioners downstairs. Head shots and resumes encouraged, but not required.

Please prepare a 30-60 second selection, with sheet music, in the style of
the show. An accompanist will be provided. A cold reading from the script
will be provided. Dance auditions will be scheduled after the first round
of auditions. The roles of Mama and Papa Ogre have been cast. All other
roles are open. Ages 16+ for all roles; 2 younger actors (ages 8-13) will
also be needed for Young Shrek/Young Fiona.

MTC will perform the production March 13-15 at newly restored Robins
Theatre in Warren, Ohio, with a special school performance scheduled for
Friday, March 13 at 10am. The show will be directed by Joe Asente and music
directed by Savannah Florkowski. Rehearsals will take place M-Th 6-9pm at
The Girard First United Methodist Church following the start of the new
year. No tech week conflicts will be accepted.

Shrek the Musical tells the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a
life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess
who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an
attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind
of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his
name is Shrek.
