Dance Arts brings Ballet to Tremont Neighborhood

Since moving to her first apartment on Professor Avenue in 2010, local
professional dancer Regina Pietraroia has dreamt of bringing a studio to
the area. On a bike ride during the long months of Covid-quarantine, she
passed a building that sparked a sense of possibility on the corner of West
5th and Jefferson. Three weeks later, when the storefront windows were
revealed, she knew it was time to make the call.

Dance Arts has had a studio location in North Royalton for four years,
where dancers of all ages study with professional instructors and have the
opportunity to perform at a variety of venues around Northeast Ohio. Prior
to opening her school, Regina performed professionally with several
companies in the area, including Ohio Dance Theatre. She continued to
perform as a freelance artist, until Covid-19 cancelled all of her spring
and summer shows...but it was that added downtime that allowed Ms.
Pietraroia to notice this incredible opportunity.

Pietraroia began teaching dance in the Tremont neighborhood in 2012, under
the name “Miss Regina’s Ballerinas.” Over the years, her classes have
served families from all over the near west side of Cleveland, and the city
of Lakewood. As the areas of Ohio City, Detroit-Shoreway, and Tremont have
all continued to develop, Ms. Pietraroia sees there is a real need for more
family-oriented activities, and hopes her new studio can provide a place
for the community to safely come together. Ms. Pietraroia is excited about
contributing to the vibrant scene of artists in the neighborhood she calls
home.

The Tremont studio, *located at 2431 W. 5th St., * will be hosting an Open
House event on Saturday, August 29th, from 1-6 p.m. Families are invited to
stop by to check out the facility and register for fall classes. There will
be free sample classes for kids at 2:00 and 3:00 (space is limited,
pre-registration required). At 7 p.m., a live performance will be streamed
from the location.  All attendees will be expected to wear masks and adhere
