Call for Art Instructors: Seeking Artists for Winter and Spring Zoom Art
Classes
The Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) invites local artists, artisans and
artaficionados to submit proposals to teach online art classes that will be
offered in the Winter and Spring. A winter break session specifically for K
- 12 students will be offered Monday- Wednesday December 21-23 and 28- 30,
2020 and a mini-session will be offered February 15-16, 2021. General
classes for all ages will be offered January 17 – March 20 and March 21 -
May 30, 2021. These courses will be presented via SHAC’s Zoom account as a
part of Stay-in-Place Productions. These community classes can cover any
artistic genre, for example: dance, cooking, baking, jewelry making,
painting, writing, drawing, improvisation, music theory, scrapbooking, or
even juggling. Classes can be 1-day workshops or multiple days, depending
on the course content. Applications will be reviewed by the SHAC selection
committee upon receipt. The final deadline is November 20, 2020. Applicants
will be notified after review by the SHAC selection committee. Preference
will be given to residents of Shaker Heights and the Shaker Heights School
District and to Shaker Arts Council members. Learn how to become a member

Instructors will receive 60% of the tuition collected for the course.
Tuition is $10/1 - 1.5 hour class or $15/2 - 2.5 hour class.

Call for Presenters: Seeking Presentations for Zoom Webinars
The Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) invites local community members to submit
proposals for arts-related lectures/webinars that will be offered during
the Winter and Spring. The dates of the sessions are January 17 – March 20
and March 21 – May 30, 2021. These events will be presented via Shaker Arts
Council’s Zoom account as a part of Stay-in-Place Productions. Webinars
will be free and open to the public. SHAC will not be able to compensate
presenters; however, we hope that this opportunity to share your expertise
will help give you exposure and promote your business.

Webinars will be scheduled for one-hour slots. The format will begin with
presentations and will be followed with a question and answer period.
Examples of topics include:
• A cooking demonstration
• How to write contracts between artists and patrons
• Managing stress with the arts
• Navigating your arts career
