FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 17, 2020

MTC to Hold Virtual Auditions for A Killer Party the Musical!

The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) is proud to announce their ongoing
virtual auditions for their next online production; the regional premiere
of A Killer Party the Musical! Auditions will be accepted until midnight on
November 27. Auditioners should record themselves singing a full
contemporary musical theatre song of their choice, as well as a brief
monologue, and email it to millennialtheatrecompany at gmail.com. Headshots
and resumes are welcome and encouraged, but not required. Actors will
receive a confirmation email after their audition has been received, along
with a brief form to complete. If an audition is sent in and a confirmation
email and form is not received, please resend your audition.

A Killer Party the Musical will rehearse and perform remotely due to the
current COVID-19 pandemic. There will be NO in-person meetings or
rehearsals, so actors from any location may audition. Rehearsals will take
place via Zoom beginning in early December. Video and audio recording will
take place throughout the months of January and February. All rehearsals
and recording sessions will be scheduled around the actor's availability.
Actors wishing to audition may be asked to provide basic costume and prop
elements for themselves, depending on their location. Actors ages 16+ may
audition. All roles are open. For more information about auditions, as well
as a breakdown of the roles in the show, please visit millennialtheatre.org
.

A Killer Party the Musical tells the story of Varthur McArthur, the
artistic director of a failing theater in Duluth, who invites his troupe of
disgruntled actors and collaborators to the first read of an "immersive
murder mystery dinner party," where no one knew that he would be the
victim. Or did they? Enter the eager, determined, and untested Detective
Case. After sequestering the guests into separate rooms (because, you know,
social-distancing), she gets down to finding out whodunnit, uncovering
secret affairs, life-long grudges, backstage drama, and a lot of musical
theater song and dance. Sifting through lies and red herrings and a truly
baffling murder mystery script left by the deceased, Case vows to find the
truth and secure her future as a great detective.
