Western Reserve Playhouse is excited to announce its new classes and
workshops from its Education Department! Please join us for…

*WRP’s Winter 2020/2021 Class Session*

We have four brand-new classes and workshops for you to try, all starting
around late November/early December and ending in January 2021! Check out
our catalogue for more information and how to register!

“*Basics of Costume Rendering*” with Jasen Smith (Wednesday evenings 12/09
through 1/20 from 6pm – 7pm) (NO meeting 12/23) ($100)

Dressing an actor and a character in a play both beautifully and
appropriately is no easy task, but a necessary and rewarding one. In this
workshop, you will touch upon the basics of human anatomy, clothing design,
and character development of the theatrical costume. You do NOT have to be
an artist or have drawing experience for this workshop. For students ages
12+; cost $100 per student.

“*Time Travel*” with Victoria Kirgesner (Tuesday evenings 12/08 through
1/19 from 6pm – 7pm) (NO meeting 12/22) ($100)

Join us for this virtual, improvisation-based experience where, each week,
we will either travel backwards or forwards in time to create brand-new
characters and stories. An adventure with endless possibilities! For
students ages 8-11; cost $100 per student.

“*Staging the Problem: A Play Directing Workshop*” with August Scarpelli
(Saturday afternoons 11/28-1/30 from 3pm – 5pm) (NO meeting 12/26) ($75)

Plays are full of problems, from pitching ideas to theatres, finding a
cast, working with delicate content or specific production demands. One of
our jobs, as directors, is to understand and solve those problems. In this
workshop, we will explore, in-depth, both the fundamentals of play
directing (dramaturgy, expressing your ideas to theatre managers,
production designers, and actors, casting, organizing, and executing
rehearsals), some of theatre history’s most problematic plays, and the
infinite possibilities of the solutions. For students ages 16+; $75 per
student.

“*College Audition Prep*” with Dayshawnda Ash (Saturday afternoons 11/28 –
1/9 from 12pm – 2pm) (NO meeting 12/26) ($200)

In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to master all of the
intricate parts of preparing and executing your best college musical
audition, whether it be in-person, virtual, or pre-recorded! Learn what to
choose, how to prepare, and build your audition book. This workshop will
include an accompanist recording of your song and a new headshot with our
WRP production photographer. For students ages 15-18; cost $200 per student.
