[NEohioPAL] Jazz classes with Mackenzi Bolyard-Pizana

Adult dancers ages 16+, join Cleveland Dance Project for the last in our
summer class series: jazz with Mackenzi Bolyard-Pizana this Sunday at Above
The Barre (1450 W Bagley Rd).

11:30am-1pm Beginner/Intermediate Technique
1-2:30pm Master Class

Classes are $15 each or $25 for both. Pre-registration is highly

*MACKENZI BOLYARD-PIZAñA,* originally from Akron, Ohio, is a dancer,
choreographer, and educator. She began her training at age five with Bourn
Academy of Dance in Green, Ohio under the direction of Judy Bourn. As part
of the competition team, she was a national soloist winner with Rising Star
Talent, Showstopper Dance, Nexstar Dance, and countless other competitions.
Since 2013 Mackenzi has been furthering her dance training across the
country and has danced in Ohio with Trutek Dance Company and choreographed
for many NE Ohio Studios. Most recently she spent time traveling and
working with the industry’s top choreographers and dancers including Chehon
Wespi-Tschopp, Will Bell, Arielle Elonys, Mackenzie Martin, and Jessica
Starr. She has both trained and performed in organizations such as with IAF
Jazz Project, IMMABreathe, Academy of Villains, MusEffect, Shade
Productions, Lucent Dossier, Geometry, and Six Flags Magic Mountain. For
the past 10 years Mackenzi has also been furthering her choreography and
teaching skills (technical and stylized) jazz, jazz funk, contemporary,
lyrical, acrobatics, and contortion where she has been recognized and
awarded nationally. As a choreographer her style has stemmed from her love
of older music which allows for her artistry and movement quality to be
influenced by the rock and soulful music and the singers' voices.
Currently, she is a faculty member for Advocate Your Artistry Convention
and Competition and performs nationally with the Chicago Honey Bears. In
addition to dancing and teaching professionally, Mackenzi graduated from
Hiram College with a BA in Spanish and Environmental Studies and is
currently pursuing a Masters of Art in Teaching at Northeastern Illinois
University in Chicago.
