announcesauditions for the 11th annual NEOMFA Playwrights Festival!

Auditions to be held at the theatre located at 

2438 Scranton Rd. Cleveland, Ohio 44113

 

The Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts (NEOMFA) is a unique graduateprogram that offers a terminal degree in Creative Writing. Each year, convergence-continuumhosts a 2-weekend festival featuring works by students of the program. Eachshow is given a full production for the playwright to experience their work onstage. Rehearsals will start the second week of January.  Those who have participated in the past cantestify that the Festival is an intensive, busy and thoroughly fun experience!  Shows can range from 10-minute shorts to fulllength.

This season will feature 5 works: Two full-length plays andthree 10 minute/one act plays.

In all, the five plays have at least 24 roles: from youngerto older actors, of all genders, races and ethnicities.

Auditions will be Sunday, December 5th at 2pm

Please arrive early to fill out an audition form and with knowledgeof your conflicts.

Auditions will consist of readings from the scripts, but theauditions will be general Festival auditions, not for specific plays.  All four directors will be present.  It is possible that you could be cast in aplay that you did not read from during auditions. It is also could be possiblethat you may be cast in two plays, e.g. a full-length + a 10-minute play, ortwo 10-minute plays.

*One production may require full frontal male and top femalenudity. Comfortability with role will be asked on the audition form. 

 

Performance dates are:

    Weekend 1 February 10th – 12th 

    Weekend 2 February 17th – 19th

VACCINATION INFO: In order to be considered for casting, allindividuals auditioning are required to provide proof of vaccination at thetime of audition. All cast and crew are required to be fully vaccinated againstCOVID-19 in order to participate in this festival.

All cast and crew will receive a stipend for theirparticipation
