There's "Something Rotten!" in Chagrin Falls this Spring

The hilarious musical mash-up of Shakespeare and Broadway takes
the stage at CVLT March 17 - April 15

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH - Chagrin Valley Little Theatre welcomes you to the
Renaissance with “Something Rotten!” This hit musical comedy features
music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winner and Tony Award-nominee Wayne
Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe Award and Tony Award-nominee Karey
Kirkpatrick, and book by Tony Award nominees Karey Kirkpatrick and
best-selling author John O’Farrell. Performances will be Fridays and
Saturdays at 7:30 PM from 3/17 - 4/15, with Sunday matinees at 2 PM on
3/26 and 4/2. Tickets are $21 at CVLT.org or 440-247-8955. $4 discount
for students, seniors, and active military.

In 16th century England, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to
write a hit play. But they are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance
rock star William Shakespeare. A chance meeting with a soothsayer gives
them a glimpse of future of theatre - singing and dancing! The brothers
set about writing the first hit musical. But amidst the scandalous
excitement of opening night, Nick and Nigel realize that reaching the
top means being true to thine own self and all that jazz.

With its heart on its ruffled sleeve and sequins in its soul, “Something
Rotten!” is an uproarious dose of pure Broadway fun and an irresistible
ode to musicals. Its wacky take on everything from Renaissance fashion
to the bubonic plague earned the Broadway production ten Tony Award
nominations.

CVLT's production is directed and choreographed by Marc C. Howard with
musical direction by David W. Coxe. The cast features George Bailey and
Ev Brodsky as 'Nick and Nigel Bottom,' with Joshua Budd as
'Shakespeare.' The cast also features Tom Jones (Nostradamus), Abby
Longshore (Bea), Dennis Runkle (Brother Jeremiah), Emily Sedmak
(Portia), Kegan Sulamoyo (Minstrel), Breann Zerby (Lady Clapham), Neil
Rubin (Shylock), Nick Grimsic (Tom Snout), Louis Schwartz (Robin),
Tobias Morrison (Peter Quince), Christopher Wuehler (Snug), with Jack
Jennemann and Jordon Matthew as 'Bard Boys'. The cast also includes
Alessia Carrossellia, Christina Katsaras, Julian Kruyne, Bekah
Neubecker, Sofia Palma, Emily Penton, Genevieve Vince.

CVLT is located at 40 River Street in historic Chagrin Falls Village.
"Something Rotten!" is part of the theatre's 93rd Season, which
continues into the summer with "The Play That Goes Wrong" and "Kinky Boots."
