On Friday, August 18, 2023, Avon Lake-based musician Jerry Popiel, will close out the Music at the Arboretum concert series with an evening of popular tunes from the 1960s and 1970s. Enjoy classics by Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Dan Fogelberg, Cat Stevens and others. The concert takes place at the John Streeter Garden Amphiltheater, 2122 Williams Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691 at 6:30 pm. Rain location is Fisher Auditorium, 1680 Madison Avenue, Wooster, Ohio 44691.

On Saturday, August 19, 2023, ORMACO honors Native Americans starting at 1:00 pm at HeARTland, 8187 Camp Road, Homerville, OH 44235. Valley City-based flutist Billy Crowbeak Faluski showcases some of his Native American-style flutes, which he handcrafts from cedar, cherry, poplar and sycamore. He will then demonstrate, performing improvisations in the style the instruments were intended to play. Primitive in nature, Faluski takes listeners to a subliminal place as he plays from the heart.

Next, enjoy Medina historian John Burke portray Captain Wolf, a Lenape/Delaware Indian who served under General William Henry Harrison and lived in his village on Chippewa Lake in Medina County. Woodland Indian life and culture with local historical references will be part of this presentation. Rain location is Homerville Community Church, 9097 Spencer Road, Homerville, OH 44235.

Both events are free. For more information, visit ormaco.org or call 419-853-6016.
