Audition Dates: Tuesday July 16 or Wednesday July 17th

Time: 7:30pm-10:00pm

*Audition sides DO NOT need to be memorized. Copies will be provided at auditions. The link is just to help you be more comfortable in your audition. We WILL NOT read for every role or side.





Performance Dates: August 30 - September 14. Shows will be Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm. Sundays at 7pm





Rehearsals: Will begin August 5 and will be Sunday-Thursdays. Typically 7pm-10pm Monday-Thursday and Sundays 6pm-10pm.  This is only a 4 week rehearsal period.


Pay: Blank Canvas Theatre dedicates 20% of the net profit to the cast of each show. The cast splits this evenly.

*At this time there are no AEA Contracts for this show. But we may entertain the option if needed.

The Story

A new look at an American classic that remains as chilling and timely as it was in 1953. Based on events which took place in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692, this tragedy tells the story of a village that becomes embroiled in a witch hunt. A group of girls are caught dancing in the forest by the local minister and rumors of witchcraft fill the Puritan town. Deceit, adultery, and fear push the town to the limit and, in the end, the one who tells the truth in hopes of redemption pays the ultimate price.



* Please note that the concept for this production will focus on our current society, social media, cancel culture, and how the events of the Salem witch trials are still relevant today. While we will be costuming and designing this show in present day, there will be NO changes to Arthur Miller's original text.



Since this production concept will not be the traditional 1692 specific time period, ALL ROLES (other than John Proctor) are open to ANY age, gender, and race.

Though, we are looking to cast actors over 18 years of age, we may make an exception for certain roles.
