An evocative tale of two men – one, a doctor, passionate and romantic; the other, a terrifying madman – and two women – one, beautiful and trusting; the other, beautiful and trusting only herself– both women in love with the same man and both unaware of his dark secret. A devoted man of science, Dr. Henry Jekyll is driven to find a chemical breakthrough that can solve some of mankind's most challenging medical dilemmas. Rebuffed by the powers that be, he decides to make himself the subject of his own experimental treatments, accidentally unleashing his inner demons along with the man that the world would come to know as Mr. Hyde.

Production Dates – September 26 - October 12, 2025
Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

Rehearsals begin – Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 1:00 pm
Rehearsals will GENERALLY be Mondays thru Thursdays 6:30-10:00 p.m. & Sundays 1:00-5:00 pm

Casting Information: 
- Needed:   Cast of approximately 25 – 35+
- All roles are available, 8M, 3F principal plus ensemble
- All roles are open to the RIGHT person, regardless of age, gender, race, etc.
- Auditions are open to all actors ages 15 to adult
- No AEA contracts available for this production.
- Actors appearing in The Fine Arts Association productions do so as volunteers.

Audition Requirements: 
- Come prepared with 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the show.
- Bring sheet music in the proper key.
- An accompanist will play for all auditioners.
- Bring a detailed list of your conflicts beginning August 3, 2025. This includes any school or work activities/events, sports activities/events and classes that would cause a missed scheduled rehearsal. All cast members must be available for tech week (September 21 - 25) and ALL performances.
- We will take your headshot prior to your audition
- Résumés will be accepted (not required).  

ROLES AVAILABLE:

Gabriel John Utterson
Serves as Jekyll's lawyer and helpful friend. He advises the troubled doctor on personal and professional affairs.
Gender: male -  Age: 30 to 45
Vocal range top: F#4 - Vocal range bottom: B2

Sir Danvers Carew
Emma's loving father and Chairman of the Board of Governors. A charming and gentle man.
Gender: male - Age: 60 to 70
Vocal range top: F#4 - Vocal range bottom: C3

Henry Jekyll / Edward Hyde
Jekyll is a doctor obsessed with discovering the true nature behind the good and evil in man and Emma's fiancee. After he uses an experimental formula on himself, his evil side - Edward Hyde - takes control. As Hyde, he is violent, commanding, and a sexual deviant attracted to Lucy.

Simon Stride
The secretary of the Board of Governors and Jekyll's rival for Emma's affections.
Gender: male - Age: 30 to 40
Vocal range top: G4 - Vocal range bottom: A2

Lady Beaconsfield
She is mature, takes great care of her appearance, fashionable and flirts with those men around her. She is outspoken, to the point of rude, and has a great regard for herself and her own self-importance.

Bishop Of Basingstoke
A hypocritical, sadistic man of the cloth and a member of the Board of Governors.
Gender: male - Age: 40 to 60
Vocal range top: G4 - Vocal range bottom: C#3

Lord Savage
Lord Savage is noted in the script as “having better things to do” and those things are probably to see and be seen around town in the best clubs, establishments and company. Titled from birth, he’s probably used his money to gain status. He is a bit of a dandy.

General Lord Glossop
A pompous retired army man and member of the Board of Governors.
Gender: male - Age: 50 to 60
Vocal range top: C4 - Vocal range bottom: G#3

Sir Archibald Proops
A Q.C. and government official. Busy man, “quick and methodical”, likely equates everything to it’s relevance to the law. He would be the guiding force on the board of governors in terms of what is lawful, so would be quick to quash anything that he deemed ill advised.

Emma Carew
The daughter of Chairman Danvers and Jekyll's beloved fiancée who is refined and desired by all of the socialite men.
Gender: female - Age: 20 to 25
Vocal range top: C6 - Vocal range bottom: A3

Lucy Harris
The gorgeous 'main attraction' at a local gentleman's club. At the bottom of her luck, she becomes the object of Hyde's obsession. Lucy is feisty and wild, but also cautious and aware.
Gender: female - Age: 20 to 30
Vocal range top: F#5 - Vocal range bottom: G#3
