*Synopsis*
*Loose Her* is a powerful and deeply moving stage play that tells the story
of Samia, a young woman navigating the painful realities of abandonment,
trauma, love, and faith. From childhood innocence to the complexities of
adulthood, Samia’s journey reveals how the wounds of the past can shape our
present, yet never have the final word. Through moments of heartbreak,
resilience, and spiritual awakening, *Loose Her* explores what it truly
means to be set free from the pain that once held us captive. This story is
a reminder that even in our darkest moments, healing, purpose, and
redemption are still possible.This story is real-life based on the
book, *"Samia,
Come Forth! Trading Graveclothes For Purpose," by author Samia Young.*

*Age 24–33 | African American female. Samia as an adult is intelligent,

*self-worth while trying to rebuild her life and find healing.*


*Teen Samia – Lead*

*Age 13–15 | African American female. A hurt and confused teenager
searching for love and*

*acceptance. She is outspoken, emotional, and rebellious at times as she
navigates trauma,*

*abandonment, and the pressures of growing up.*


*Child Samia*

*Age 8–12 | African American female. Energetic, imaginative, and full of
dreams. She loves singing,*

*performing, and saving animals, but early life trauma begins shaping her
future.*


*Mother/Sherri*

*Age 35–40 | African American female. Quiet, gentle, and emotionally
exhausted from life’s hardships.*

*She loves her children but struggles to protect them or stand up for
herself.*


*Brother/Andrew*

*Age 12–16 | African American male. Intelligent, sarcastic, and often
teasing toward Samia. Represents*

*the complicated sibling dynamic within the household.*


*Aunt/Annette*

*Around 40 | African American female. Loud, strict, and controlling. She
runs her home like a military*

*camp and believes harsh discipline is the only way to raise children.*


*Danny*

*Teen male. Smooth-talking and manipulative. He tells Samia what she wants
to hear in order to*

*get what he wants.*


*Adult Husband/Tony*

Late 20s–early 30s Male African American

A smooth-talking, confident man who knows how to say the right things to
win people over. Charming on the surface, but emotionally manipulative
underneath, he represents the kind of love that looks real but ultimately
leaves Samia more broken than before.


*Tish*

*Late 20s | African American female. Samia’s loyal but outspoken friend.
She enjoys nightlife but*

*genuinely cares about Samia and often challenges her to do better.*

*40–45 | African American male. A passionate preacher whose message about
