Theatre Agápe Expands to Cleveland's West Side with Godspell WESTLAKE, Ohio — Theatre Agápe is thrilled to present Godspell, marking the company's first production on Cleveland's West Side. Performances will take place August 14-16, 2026, at The PEACE Pavilion, located at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Westlake. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) and a book by John-Michael Tebelak, Godspell is one of the most beloved musicals of all time. Through parables, unforgettable songs, and moments of humor and heart, the production celebrates compassion, friendship, and the transformative power of community. Under the direction of Douglas F. Bailey II, this production reimagines Godspell in a neglected community room waiting to be brought back to life. As the story unfolds, the cast transforms the forgotten space into a vibrant gathering place using found objects, imagination, music, and collaboration. The production's central message — "The Beautiful City is not somewhere else. It is the place we build together." — comes to life through an immersive theatrical experience that invites audiences to see themselves as part of the community being created. The creative team includes: • Director: Douglas F. Bailey II • Music Director: Bradley Lindeman Wyner • Choreographer: Sarah Heffner • Stage Manager: Sara Bates • Assistant Director: Tim Bates Performances will be held: • Friday, August 14, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. • Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. • Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. All performances will take place at The PEACE Pavilion, located at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Westlake.
