About the show: On a cold, clear night in the middle of winter, all is not as it seems in this remote, mythical place called Almost, Maine. In a series of nine sweet and soulful vignettes, residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected, often hilarious, and sometimes heartbreaking ways. The New York Post said Almost, Maine is "Thornton Wilder crossed with 'The Twilight Zone'...it's poignant, witty, and nearly perfect." The director's take: Director Deb Lemire said that when people ask her what the show is about, the short answer is love, which is not always so simple. "Love is so many things. It's friendships that catch fire, it's forgiveness and letting go, it's joyful, infuriating, fierce, erotic, messy, weird, terrifying, giddy, exhausting, agonizing, wondrous, surprising, and opens your heart in ways you never thought possible. Is it even worth it? Almost, Maine helps us come to understand that yes, yes it is." Almost, Maine is presented through special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service.
