Single mother, Doris Walker, doesn't want her six-year-old Susan's head filled with romantic notions. Their neighbor, Fred Gailey, tries to woo Doris by charming Susan and taking her to see Santa Claus at Macy's, where Doris works. Doris is not impressed, but when it turns out that Macy's Santa may, in fact, be the real Kris Kringle, a wave of love spreads across New York City that melts even the most cynical hearts. Filled with humor, spectacle and such beloved songs as "Pinecones and Hollyberries," "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" and "My State, My Kansas," this joyous, heartwarming musical is pure family entertainment, wholesome without being cloying. A star-vehicle for a female actress that features great roles for children, the show is a cast- and crowd-pleaser. Gender: Male Age: Late 50s to 70s *Marvin Shellhammer* An aggressive but somewhat bungling junior executive. Gender: Male Age: Late 20s to 40s *R. H. Macy*The head of Macy’s & Co. Gender: Male Age: 50s to 70s *Mr. Sawyer* The store psychologist who gets a sick pleasure out of firing people for mental incompetence. Gender: Male Age: 30s to 60s *Miss Crookshank*Sawyer’s much put upon secretary. Gender: Female Age: 20s to 50s *Judge Martin Group*Reasonable Judge of the Kringle case. Gender: Male Age: 40s to 60s *Tammany O’Halloran*A political boss, good friends with Judge Group Gender: Male Age: 30s to 60s *Thomas Mara Sr.* A no nonsense District Attorney. Gender: Male Age: 30s to 50s *Henrika* A young dutch girl Gender: Female Age: 6 to 12 *Tommy Mara* Thomas Mara’s precocious son Gender: Male Age: 6 to 12 (Must believably play 7 year old) *Harry Finfer* A young boy, visiting Santa at Macy’s. Gender: Male Age: 6 to 12 (Must believably play 7 year old) *Ensemble* Marines, children, clowns, post office workers, policemen, a drunk Santa, a troubled shopper, etc. *The director believes in casting actors/actresses in multiple roles, so that each actor/actress will have plenty of stage time throughout the production.
