Near West Theatre seeks an experienced Stage Manager for its upcoming production of *Newsies.* This is a paid position. *Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* · Attend and take notes at all production meetings · Manage rehearsal process and maintain proper documentation of blocking and technical elements. · Manage tech rehearsal process and maintain proper documentation for run of show. · Supervise and direct crew for run of show. · Manage crew and cast call times, sound checks, performances and sightlines. · Call audio, lighting, and deck cues. · Complete rehearsal and show reports, according to Company standards. · Attend tech notes following each night of tech. · Coordinate with Front of House during performances · Manage emergency situations if they arise during rehearsals and performances (will be trained on company procedures) · Maintain rehearsal and performance spaces. *Required Skills:* · Astute attention to detail · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally, collaborating with others · Must be able to solve problems as and when they may arise · Strong organizational and adaptability skills · Positive attitude and the ability to remain effective under pressure while managing staff and motivating teams for best results. · Experience working with kids ages 9-15 *Rehearsals start July 29th. The rehearsal and performance schedule are as follows:* · Rehearsals are Sunday-Wednesday.
