Cassidy Theatre Announces a Variety of Youth Classes for the Fall! General information about the Cassidy Youth Theatre program: The Cassidy Youth Theatre program has been providing acting, singing and dancing classes for many years. Recent instructors include Katie Atkinson, Amy Banner, Eric Bartkowski, Emily Beck, Sarah Clare, Alyssa Herbell, Dan Hoy, Jayne Bartish-Kacik, Joe Kenderes, Madeline Krucek, Diana Kullgren, Sarah Lawson, Jenna Messina, Lauren Persons, and Alex Ulle. Youth classes begin Saturday, September 17th and run through November 19th. * (10 weeks) Please note StarDust! will be 9 weeks starting on September 24th. Shakespeare Shake-Up and Stage Combat Combo will run 9 weeks- no class for Shakespeare Shakeup on October 8th- The last day of class, November 19th, will be a free recital including performances from each class. This non-stressful approach to basic acting, singing, and movement will teach your littlest stars to twinkle! Students will work on imagination, memorization, and team work, as well as the technical basics of putting on a show. *ACT-OUT! 8- 11 year olds* *Sept. 17- Nov.19th Instructor- Wilks* *Saturdays, 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. $85.00 * This class is for students who want to focus on acting. During the course of this program, students will be instructed in improvisation, character work, and voice and movement for acting. The class provides a safe environment for students bring music to life. Students will learn healthy vocal techniques, use acting skills to create characters while singing, learn about music history, and develop audition skills. Musical Theatre Vocal Skills 12-17 year olds * *Sept. 17- Nov.19th Instructor- Ulle * *Saturdays, 11:15 p.m. - 12:15 p.m. $80.00 * This active and exciting class focuses on aspects of musical theatre: singing, acting, and dance. Students will take part in each of these areas, as well as develop audition skills, learn acting techniques and build confidence to perform onstage. In this introduction to the life and works of the master himself, students will get a glimpse into the days of William Shakespeare and his influence on theatre today. Students will interpret text, act out the words, and learn the basics of safe and realistic stage combat in this super fun, non-intimidating, and imaginative and class! students will learn: how to punch, slap, choke, kick, fall, tumble, sword fight (rapier) and most importantly, how to sell the reaction. *RHYTHM AND RELEVÉ! Musical Theatre Dance 8-14 year olds * *Sept. 17- Nov.19th Instructor- Justice * *Saturdays, 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 p.m. $80.00 * This exciting class focuses on dance specifically built for students interested in musical theatre. The class provides a safe environment for students to learn and grow as dancers while they learn dance skills, terminology, and exciting choreography. This class will benefit students of all abilities and experience levels.
