THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE DRAMATIC COMEDY TEAR IT OFF OPENS THIS FRIDAY AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM Two sisters pass the time by writing a romance novel. But when they invite their friendly handyman to become their co-author, the line between reality and fiction blurs. Their heroine gets stranded on a lonely wooded island. A dashing pilot joins her when his small plane crashes. A bear attacks. The star-crossed lovers dance and make love under the stars. In the process inhibitions get left behind in a pile on the living room floor, as the authors find themselves living the hot and steamy clichés of their book. The world premiere of Cleveland playwright Mike Geither's TEAR IT OFF is directed by guest director Karin Randoja, a founding member of Canada's Primus Theatre and recognized as among Toronto's most innovative and daring experimental theatre directors. TEAR IT OFF features con-con company members Lucy Bredeson-Smith, Beau Reinker and Lauren B. Smith, and newcomer to the Liminis stage, Terence Cranendonk. TEAR IT OFF opens this Fri, Aug 14 and runs Thu-Sat at 8 pm through Sept 5 at the Liminis theater, 2438 Scranton Rd, Cleveland 44113, in the historic Tremont neighborhood. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 seniors (65+), $10 students. Tickets and information at http://www.convergence-continuum.org and 216-687-0074.
