The Producers of Bare Boys Reading Books Proudly Present GOOD ADVICE Conceived by the Creative Team at Bare Boys Reading Books Directed by: Nick Vannello Production Manager: Brad Speck Show Summary: "Bare Boys Reading Books" is a body-positive literary burlesque show that celebrates the joy of reading and the beauty of the male body. Set in an intimate stage environment, the show features male performers who read selected passages from books while gradually undressing. The theme for the upcoming show, "Good Advice," promises to blend humor, inspiration, and a touch of sensuality as performers peel off layers to reveal not just their bodies, but also their personalities and stories. We are seeking male performers who: Have a passion for reading and can engage an audience with their vocal delivery. Are comfortable with nudity and can confidently undress on stage in a body-positive manner. Can convey emotions and connect with the audience through both their reading and physical presence. Are reliable, professional, and able to attend scheduled rehearsals. Actors must be willing to perform nude. There are two performances per night. One show is rear-nudity only, the other is full frontal. If chosen, you will have two 1:1 Zoom rehearsals with the director before you come to the final rehearsals. There are only two in-person rehearsals the week of the show. Performers should prepare a 2-minute video audition that includes: A brief introduction. A reading of a book passage that showcases their reading ability. This show celebrates diversity and inclusivity, welcoming performers of all body types, backgrounds, and identities.
