Sunday, August 19th at 7pm BOP STOP @ The Music Settlement in Ohio City CLEVELAND STAGE ALLIANCE PRESENTS… What The Flop? The Headaches, Heartaches, and Backaches of Musical Theatre Featuring Kyle Burnett, Eddie Carney (piano), Eric Fancher, Kate Michalski, and Nicole Sumlin When it comes to musicals, not every one can be a winner. To quote the Alan Jay Lerner flop Dance A Little Closer, “Just plain passion wouldn’t satisfy! It never would’ve worked, but it would’ve been fun to try!” From Bring Back Birdie to Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, the rich history of musical theatre is littered with shows that audiences discarded- rightly or otherwise! Join us on Sunday, August 19th as we examine some of these abandoned works in a fun multimedia evening of story and song. The evening will be co-hosted by Kyle Burnett and CSA Founder Eric Fancher. Eddie Carney will serve as musical director. Kate Leigh Michalski and Nicole Sumlin will perform songs from the maligned shows, along with Burnett and Fancher. The soloists will showcase what was GOOD from the shows, including songs from: Anyone Can Whistle Groundhog Day: The Musical Bright Star My Favorite Year The Last Ship Tuck Everlasting Chaplin It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman! Annie Warbucks A Year With Frog and Toad AND MORE... Plus- featuring the only song to be featured in two different "CSA Presents" concerts… (Hint: It’s about Vampires in Love) Tickets are $15, general admission.
