Artists will build and refine the techniques necessary to craft authentic characters and deliver honest storytelling through song. In this masterclass, students will flesh out their project ideas, writing and engaging in activities during which they'll explore basic play structure, strategies useful in creating impactful dialogue, and techniques helpful in creating authentic characters. In this solo show masterclass, students will explore different solo show styles, processes, and workshop vocal choice, movement and gesture as a means of creating character portraits. Students will learn the skills needed to strengthen the trajectory of development, solidify objectives and intentions, and clarify transitions between scenes and characters. This session is geared towards writers who have already started creating a piece. Playwrights should have one monologue/scene created, preferably more.
