Talespinner Children's Theatre is seeking an actor who is Asian, Asian American, or Pacific Islander ages 18+ of any gender for a role in our upcoming musical production of Last Stop on Market Street. This performer will play Mr. Chow, along with other roles outlined below (all actors in this production will play multiple roles). Talespinner Children's Theatre is a professional theatre for young audiences. "Last Stop on Market Street" is a musical adaptation of the multi-award-winning children's book by Matt de la Pena. ROLES: MR. DENNIS (He/Him) 40'ish (can be played by a range of ages) loves his job, playful bus driver, singer TATTED MAN, (He/Him), (can be played by a range of ages) bus passenger covered in tattoos that is tired of people making assumptions about him because of his appearance. He enjoys volunteering every weekend at the zoo making animal balloons. Singer/Rapper MADAM BUTTERFLY, (She/Her), (can be played by a range of ages) a woman dressed like a butterfly, ethereal almost like a human fairy, bus passenger VERNON, (He/Him) (can be played by a range of ages) a blind bus passenger, loves music and philosophy its that “music's hidden in plain sight and you'll notice if you pay attention” singer MR. CHOW, (He/Him), (can be played by a range of ages) (East Asian, Southeast Asian, Mixed Ethnicity, of AAPI heritage) soup kitchen patron in a wheelchair.
