First a whole outdoor size thanks to all who attended our Yorkville Lanes show a week ago. You guys totally helped us rock that night with the addition of Crashettes: Taylor Sue Nagy, DeLee Cooper, Brian Hager, Thomas Anonymous and myself. We will do it again this Sunday, June 5 for the "BOP STOP presents a Glam Brunch", that traces music from the transgressive underground art scene of Andy Warhol and proto-punk Akron & Detroit to London, New York and the world. The presentation is at Noon with doors at 11am when a delicious full menu brunch begins (optional). Tickets are only $10. Following up on their sold-out series of events celebrating David Bowie, CoolClevelands Thomas Mulready and crew now focus their mascaraed eyes on the trail blazed by Glam rockers from Elvis & Little Richard to Bowie & Bolan, from Andy Warhol & Lou Reed to Suzi Quatro & Joan Jett, from the New York Dolls & Sex Pistols to nine inch nails & The Cure, from Patti LaBelle & Donna Summer to Parliament/Funkadelic and Boy George, from Queen & Madonna to Sia, Lorde & Lady Gaga. The trail follows Noel Coward to John Cage to Little Richard to Iggy Pop to Rocky Horror to DEVO to Jacques Brel to David Bowie to Mott The Hoople to The Clash to the Runaways to the Sex Pistols to The Cure to hair metal to Queen to nine inch nails to techno to ABBA to Madonna to U2 to Arcade Fire to Green Day to Sia to Lorde to Lady Gaga. As entertaining as it is enlightening, this interactive presentation is a cure for ADD that moves at lightning speed offers a blitzkrieg bop of seminal video clips, needle drops by DJ JD, trivia contests, giveaways and sing-alongs. The show concludes with a live music showcase by Cleveland glam-punk superstars Vanity Crash performing originals from their 2015 release LOVE, plus select glam favorites. With more than a few costume changes along the way. Were calling it: Glam! Bam! Thank You Maam: From Lady Stardust to Lady Gaga. And yes, the show will have a section on Prince (youre the fourth person to ask today), since he epitomizes the Glam persona: overt sexuality, thunderous beats, transgressive politics, anthemic songwriting, bizarre theatricality, a party that never ends. It all takes place this Sunday at the BOP STOP at Noon. ========================== ====== Sunday, June 5 11:00am - Doors open with optional brunch served Noon - CoolCleveland's Thomas Mulready's Glam Rock's Historical Multimedia Presentation 1:15pm - Vanity Crash BOP STOP - All Ages 2920 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, Ohio 44113 Get Your Tickets Here: http://www.themusicsettlement.org/calendar/2016/06/05/glam-brunch-from-lady-... ================================
